The sanctuary of Montenero is named after the patron saint Madonna delle Grazie. The monastery is located on a hill and has been a popular pilgrimage site since the 14th century. Also in front of it are the graves of the famous Livornese Francesco Domenico Guerazzi and Giovanni Fattori.

Marina di San Vincenzo

Church of San Vincenzo Ferrer

Monument to Quattro Mori

The monument of the four walls is considered a symbol of the city and consists of four bronze walls. Above is the statue of Ferdinand the First.

Museums and galleries

Numerous museums and galleries invite residents and tourists alike to visit. Among them is the Casa Natale di Amedeo Modigliani, the birthplace of the famous painter, which is open for tours on weekends. The Giovanni Fattori City Museum houses an important collection of works from the renowned Macchiaioli school of painting, created by artists such as Giovanni Fattori and Cesare Bartolena. The Natural History Museum features a botanical garden and offers many insights into the landscape of the province.

San Vincenzo's beach is one of the most beautiful in the country. It is almost three kilometers long and has fine, golden sand. The beach is about 50 meters wide and behind it there is a pine forest. In the bathing season there are so-called Punti Azzuri, where you can borrow sun loungers and parasols.

The water at San Vincenzo beach has held the "Blue Flag" award for years, signifying its crystal-clear, algae-free water. You can also bring your dog to "Dog Beach," as it's a designated dog-friendly area. Stay with dogs allowed.

Principess Beach is a popular spot for both locals and tourists as it always has cold water to cool off and direct access from the accommodations.

Entertainment on the beach

Numerous water sports for surfers, sailors and divers are offered. There are also opportunities to rent pedal boats or canoes and go out to sea.

If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can cool off in one of the cafes or ice cream parlors along the pedestrian-only beach promenade. One of the most famous restaurants is "La Perla del Mare," located right on the beach. Here you can also enjoy a beautiful sunset while sipping a glass of wine.

Nature reserve «Parco di Rimigliano»

The «Parco di Rimigliano» is a well-known nature reserve, encompassing beautiful sand dunes and pine trees. Located behind the beach, the park offers wonderful shade and opportunities to stretch your legs.

Other leisure activities

Besides water sports, there are other things to do during your holiday in the province: excursions to the nature reserves, Monti Livornesi and Calafuria, around the city are very popular. You can explore the entire province using the hop-on/hop-off buses. The buses run hourly and stop at the main attractions, allowing you to visit at your own pace – all you need is a 24-hour ticket.
