The region extends in the north of Liguria between the mountain ranges of the Apennines and the Mediterranean Sea to the center of Italy, from where it is not far to the capital Rome, the Eternal City. The region also has a few smaller islands.

Fantastic cities in Tuscany

Tuscany is particularly known for its medieval cities. Florence, Siena and Lucca entice you with their breathtaking scenery and typical Italian flair. Here on the "Costa degli Etruschi" you will find quiet beachesthat couldn't be more versatile. Especially the fresh fish, which you can enjoy in the local restaurants along the coast, is optimally prepared for a real culinary delight. The best thing to do is to have a glass of the tasty Tuscan wine served with it.

From Livorno and Piombino you have the opportunity to cross over to one of the small Tuscan islands. Gorgona, Capraia, Pianosa, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri await you with their picturesque villages that defy mass tourism and offer unique natural spectacles. Most of the islands are located in a nature or national park where driving is prohibited. This makes the islands breathtaking places to slow down, where time seems to stand still.

The largest of the Tuscan Islands and at the same time the best known of them is Elba. It is the center of water sports and has numerous schools and equipment rental shops for these sports. The turquoise blue sea also invites you to relax and unwind.
