Tuscany is known for its diverse, melancholy landscape. Many streets are true panorama routes and lead through the most beautiful corners of the Italian region.
The Tuscany is without a doubt one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. If you have not yet seen this area in the heart of the boot-shaped country, we recommend that you take a car tour there. Even from the car, the roads in Tuscany show the picturesque beauty of the region, which is lined with olive trees and cypresses. A special tip are the roads between the cities Siena and San Quirico d'Orcia.
The SR 2 from Siena to Montalcino, for example, is highly recommended because it leads over hills and past monasteries and olive groves. The SP 408 from Montevarchi to Siena is a similar route. You start in medieval Montevarchi and enjoy a fascinating landscape until you arrive in the lively city of Siena. If you want to drive along a real panorama route, the Crete Senesi is just the thing for you: There are many sweeping views along the way.
From San Gimignano to the Chianti area – Experience the streets of Tuscany
San Gimignano could be another starting point for a tour of Tuscany. Here the route leads through the area of Chianti, which is lined with vineyards and leads through Radda, Greve in Chianti to the chivalrous Abbey of Badia a Passignano. On this route you will also find some cultural highlights, but also small romantic restaurants to stop off at.
A detour on this route leads to the small town of Monticchiello, for example, which is truly a view like from a painting: slender cypress trees, narrow streets and crooked turrets can be seen from afar.
