“I would like to spend a long weekend in Tuscany. What's on offer?"
Basically a short trip to Italy to Tuscany (by flight) quite possible. However, you then have to choose a few options from a multitude of options and are spoiled for choice - such as:
- City tours in Tuscany: Florence (art and culture) / San Gimignano (gorgeous medieval old town) / Siena (also) / possibly Pisa. A short vacation in Italy's most beautiful places is certainly worth a short trip.
- As a wine lover, a round tour through the Chianti region or other well-known Wine-growing areas; Wines can be tasted in most wineries - this gives a lot of background information, and many wines are given a "face" - you can now imagine where they come from. You can combine this with a visit to the neighboring Tuscan villages and small towns/cities. However, buying wine in Tuscany is not necessarily cheaper than buying the same brand in Germany or Austria.
- There are also many historically interesting excursion destinations in Tuscany, which do not necessarily have to be combined with a city tour. It is better to find out more about other sources here.
- And much more. Tuscany has a lot to offer in an area that is only slightly larger than that of the federal state of Hesse.

Other:
- For such a short trip, suitable accommodation would be a hotel or something similar. Unfortunately, a holiday home or apartment can usually only be rented by the week from Saturday to Saturday. However, many travel agencies also offer complete packages for a long weekend!
- A party weekend á la "Ballermann" is rather non-existent in Tuscany in northern Italy. But it offers 5 stars in terms of landscape, relaxation and culture! Ideally, you should stay for a week an apartment or a holiday home book in a good location in the countryside.
- There is a lot going on in the well-known tourist centers during the holiday season. This is particularly noticeable in the cities already mentioned. If you don't mind, that's no problem for you.
- If you value relaxation more, you should travel to Tuscany between April and June and avoid the hot summer. From May it can be really warm with temperatures suitable for a pool. However, the temperature of the sea is still quite fresh, in contrast to other lakes in Italy (e.g. Lake Como or Lake Garda) it is already warm. The landscape in spring is a dream and many destinations can still be visited relatively "undisturbed".
