From Pisa and Livorno ...

The ideal starting point is Galileo's birthplace Pisa. The Aeroporto Galileo Galilei airport is served from various destinations in Germany. Three days are the perfect time to explore the cities of Pisa and Livorno. There are numerous sights waiting to be discovered in Pisa. A visit to the Leaning Tower of Pisa is mandatory. It is also worth visiting the baptistery and the cathedral of Santa Maria and taking a stroll through Piazza di Cavalieri. Another highlight is the Botanical Garden, founded in 1543 and therefore the oldest in the world. The port city Livorno also has a lot to offer. We recommend a trip to the port facility, one of the most important freight and transport ports in Italy. The historic city center is home to numerous churches and synagogues, such as the Duomo San Francesco di Assisi and the Temple of the Dutch-German Congregation. The fortifications Fortezza Vecchia and Fortezza Nuova are well worth seeing. The Tuscan city is known for its fresh fish and excellent delicacies.

There are numerous places to stay in the region around Livorno and Pisa. This offers an idyllic haven of calm Abitalia Tower Plaza (left picture). The design hotel in the heart of Pisa impresses with its roof terrace with a view of the leaning tower. The wellness center and the spacious pool area guarantee pure relaxation. This is recommended for those who prefer the Tuscan country house style Pratello Country Resort (right picture). From Pisa we continue towards Piombino, about an hour's drive south of Pisa. Three days should also be planned for this part of the trip. The idyllic port town enchants its visitors with its small streets, Tuscan architecture and the harbor promenade. The ideal starting point for unforgettable day trips. A must-do is a visit to the ancient city of Populonia, located on a mountain with a view of the Gulf of Baratti and the Elba-Island. The Gulf of Baratti offers a wonderful bathing beach, made for cooling off in the hot Tuscan summer. Located on one of the numerous hills, the picturesque town of Campiglia Marittima is hidden. A jewel on the Etruscan Coast. The view extends to the sea and could hardly be more beautiful. Small authentic shops and ice cream parlors line the small and narrow streets of the ancient village. The weekly markets are ideal for shopping. One of the biggest is that Markt by Cecina, which takes place every Tuesday. From Piombino A car ferry leaves for Elba in about an hour. A paradise for divers. The main town of Portoferraio invites you to explore, as does Napoleon's summer residence and the numerous enchanted mountain villages.

The Etruscan Coast offers countless hotels to complete a visit to the area. The Talasso raffle (left picture) is a luxury and wellness temple, located directly on the beach.
