With Mark Twain through Florence - on the trail of his tour of 1878/1879

At the same time, however, the exuberant euphoria of many Tuscany fans is often enough exposed to criticism that they only see everything through “rose-colored glasses”. Who could sum this up better than the author Mark Twain, who in his humorous way describes his own travel experiences in his travel diary The Unsuspecting abroad* describes? Mark Twain also made a detour to Tuscany as part of his world tour between 1878 and 1879. Here he mainly described his impressions of the cities Florence and Pisa.
